Description
Ostia Tools offer for sale this ex-school Harrison M300 Lathe
Metric graduations
Both imperial and metric screw cutting
3 Phase
Power feeds on both axis
We have cleaned and serviced this machine. We have fitted new coolant pipework, new bed wipers, new headstock mat and new apron bellows.
We have also had the gearbox off as they tend to seize up on ex-school M300s due to lack of use. The oil thickens up and makes it impossible to turn the number dial. The only way around is to remove the gearbox and throughly clean it. We have done this and fitted a new gasket.
Machine is in full working order.
It does have the thread dial indicator and it is not the gap bed model.
All original paint. Machine has had no touch ups so although there is some paint loss in areas, this machine is in original and honest condition. The amount of paint loss shows how hard a life this machine has had and for its age, this is fairly good.
The original speed and feed chart which is shown on the pallet had a hole in the top RH corner, we have fitted a replacement chart but it is from a machine with a 4 TPI leadscrew instead of a 6mm pitch leadscrew which this has. Most of the gear set ups are the same but on the diagram on the 4TPI where it says gear 95t on the 6mm chart is is 96t. There are also a few slightly different gear set ups so we have included the original damaged chart for reference.
