Auction companies charge a sellers premium to the seller and a buyers premium to the Buyer on each lot. 

As an example, If a plane is worth £100, the buyer will only bid up to £82 as they know they will have to pay 20% buyers premium. You as the seller will only receive £69 once the auction house has taken off their 10% sellers fees. There may also be additional fees such as a lotting fee. And there is no guarantee that the item will reach its full potential at auction it all depends on whether the right bidder is in the room.

Selling to Ostia Tools is different because we are collectors ourselves. This means that we pay a fair market value for the plane based on its model and condition. In some cases we will pay above market value for certain models.
