Ostia Tools offer for sale this Boxford 5″ CUD Lathe in very clean condition. 

Full working order

Original paint throughout which shows how much work this machine has actually done in its 45 year life. (serial number ages this machine to approx mid 1979)

We have replaced the bed wipers, put a new chuck guard perspex on and replaced the coolant pipework.

3 Phase. Metric Graduations. 

The machine is supplied with:

3 Jaw chuck with both internal and external jaws

4 way tool post

Drill chuck for tailstock

4 Jaw independent chuck

Full set of change gears. (The CUD model does not have a gearbox and requires the use of change gears to change the screw cutting pitch. The chart for all the threads is shown on the inside of the gear train door and the machine comes with all the gears needed. )

Pair of centres and a headstock reducing bush

Set of drive dogs and drive plate for turning between centres

7 1/4″ Faceplate

Set of 4 Antivibration feet

Fitted with machine light and coolant pump. Also fitted with the sought after T-slotted cross slide and the rear mounted limit switch which shuts off the machine before the carriage crashes into the chuck when the screw cutting feeds are engaged.

The CUD does not have the power feed apron so no power feeds.
