Viceroy TDS Screw Cutting Metal Centre Lathe 230v

Description

Ostia Tools offer for sale this Denford Viceroy Metal lathe. 

I’m not too clued up on the models of these Viceroy machines and the code used in the naming of them but I can say that this model is the equivalent to the Boxford AUD in that is has the screw cutting gearbox and power feeds on both axis 

This machine is supplied with a great selection of accessories such as:

3 jaw chuck with both internal and external jaws

4 jaw independent chuck 

Faceplate

Drive plate

Drawbar and collet set 

Fixed steady

Quick change tool post with 3 tool holders (2 standard and 1 parting tool holder)

Thread dial indicator. 

revolving centre and drill chuck for tailstock. 

In some respects, the viceroy lathes were better designed as a lathe than the Boxfords and much better than the Myfords. The beds are better than both lathes and they have a larger swing and through bore. The tailstocks also have a through bore which the previously mentioned machines do not. 

However the colour choice and a few aesthetics do let them down a bit. 

There is some paint loss to the motor side door which has flaked off in the obvious areas but is peeling on the majority of the rest of the door. 

The machine is metric graduations and screw cutting. 

It is also 230v single phase and can be run from a normal household 3 pin plug.
