Tom Senior Major ELT Universal Milling Machine Vertical & Horizontal 3 Phase

Ostia Tools offer for sale this clean and original Tom Senior Major ELT Universal Milling Machine. 

Having just read up about this model on lathes.co.uk, the ELT stands for Extra Long Table which measure 8.5″ by 37″

The article on Lathes.co.uk states that this model has a chain driven power feed gearbox but our machine has a belt model so I am not sure if the chain was an option when purchased new or a modification made on the machine the article was written about. The feeds work as they should but a new belt is on order as the current one shown in the photos is past its best. 

Couple of very small parts missing off this machine: one of the two circular covers to either side of the knee screw to prevent swarf from entering the coolant tank. And two blocks and T-nuts from the T-slot on the front of the table which knock off the power feed. I would call them power feed limit blocks?! Both very minor items. 

Supplied with both the vertical head fitted and the parts to convert to horizontal milling. Comes with a nice selection of horizontal milling cutters. 

Also comes with an Abwood vice on a swivel base and fitted with the Clarkson Autolock collet chuck with all 4 sizes of collet and spanner. 

Machine is fitted with 25v light, coolant and power feed gearbox.
